Personal Finance Camp, Twin Cities
For Teachers Grades 7-12
July 8-10, 2009

This three-day workshop on personal finance is an opportunity to learn innovative ways to engage students in learning about investing in human capital, financial planning, saving and investing, budgeting, and using credit wisely. The camp will run from 10:00am-4:30pm on July 8th and 8:30am-4:30pm on July 9th and 10th.
Participants receive curricula, lunch and morning refreshments and continuing education credits. Travel stipends of $75 are available for the first 8 participants that reside outside of the seven-county metro area.
The topics addressed in this workshop will make a significant difference in the lives of your students, now and in the future. You will be able to give them the personal finance skills they need to make intelligent choices about managing money, making financial decisions, staying in school, and selecting careers.
Free curricula include National Council on Economic Education publications, Financial Fitness for Life and the new DVDs Risky Business and Financing Your Future; and the National Endowment for Financial Education's High School Financial Planning ProgramŽ.
The workshop will be led by Professor Curt Anderson from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. It is made possible by funding from the Council on Economic Education.
