MCEE is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Money Smart Teen Essay Contest in partnership with COUNTRY Financial!

Created to support Money Smart Week, a national public awareness campaign, the Money Smart Teen Essay Contest asked students to write an essay answering the question "What are the potential devastating effects of a natural disaster on a family's financial situation? What are some tips and resources to help prepare a family for a potential future unexpected crisis?"

Albany Area Senior High won first place at the Minnesota Personal Finance Decathlon state championship on April 18 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. It was the first state win for Albany in the competition's 11-year history. St. Thomas Academy received second place, and Underwood High School and Robbinsdale Armstrong High School were state finalists.

Edina High School, Parnassus Preparatory School, and Albany Area Senior High took the state championship titles in their divisions, Adam Smith (advanced placement), David Ricardo (large school), and Joan Robinson (small school), respectively at the state Economics Challenge on April 11 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.

On Friday, February 9, 49 students from local schools joined MCEE at Wells Fargo in downtown Minneapolis for the first annual Fostering Future Entrepreneurs Trade Show! Student teams pitched their startup ventures to volunteer judges from Wells Fargo, Deluxe Corporation, the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Land O'Lakes, the Minnesota Bankers Association, Piper Jaffray & Co., the Schulze School of Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas, Merrill Lynch, and other local businesses.

The Minnesota Council on Economic Education (MCEE) today announced its Fostering Future Entrepreneurs Trade Show event on Feb. 9 at the Wells Fargo East Town campus in Minneapolis from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
