The Rising Star in Economics Award will annually recognize one newer teacher who has shown commitment to economic education and professional growth.
The awards are open to Minnesota teachers in grades K-12. The Rising Star in Economics Award is a one-time only award and is open to teachers with at least three years' classroom experience.
In selecting the winning teacher, judges will consider:
- Demonstrated commitment to economic education
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development
- At least three years classroom experience in economic education
Award winners will receive a cash prize of $1,000. The winner will be featured in MCEE's newsletter and on the website and will be honored at our annual celebration EconFest.
Teachers may nominate themselves or may be nominated by a peer, school administrator, curriculum specialist, community or business representative, or a director of a Center for Economic Education.
Award winners, along with their administrators, will be honored at EconFest, our annual celebration in the fall.
