Round 1: Online Qualifying Round Competition

1. Create teams of 3-4 students. *Teachers can register as many teams as they like.

1. • Registration form requires students' names & grades.

2. Teachers register using the online competition site.

   • Registration: 

     1. Fall Session Teacher & Team/Student Registration: September 21 - November 20, 2026

        1. November 20, 2026: Deadline to Inform MCEE of Qualifying Round Online Testing Date for Fall Session 

     2. Spring Session Teacher & Team/Student Registration: January 1 - February 26, 2027

        1. February 26, 2027: Deadline to Inform MCEE of Qualifying Round Online Testing Date for Spring Session

   • Qualifying Round Competition (Online Testing via the online competition site.):

     1. Fall: November 23 - December 23, 2026

     2. Spring: March 1 - 31, 2027 

3. Teachers work with students to prepare for the competition; learn more in FAQ.

4. The registration portal will generate unique access codes for students to take the tests. When you're ready, distribute these to your students.

5. Students visit the online competition site to take their test.

7. After students have taken their tests, teachers will be able to view individual results for their teams. 

• Note: Results must be downloaded before each qualifying round competition closes.

8. MCEE will notify teachers of advancing teams in early April.

Round 2: In-Person State Competition - University of Minnesota - St. Paul, MN

• Registration Deadline: April 9, 2027

• State Competition (In-Person): April 16, 2027 at the University of Minnesota - St. Paul Campus Student Center

Round 3: In-Person Finals/Nationals - Philadelphia, PA

• Registration Deadline for Nationals:  TBD.

• Coach and Student Forms Due: TBD.

• Nationals: June 13-14, 2027 at Temple University
